IT’S YOUR TIME
Welcome to our website. We here at Ascent are committed to your professional and career
advancement. We believe that the time is right for you to walk into positions of authority, leadership
and power. And as you move into these leadership positions, we encourage you to bring your whole,
authentic self to the table. This whole self includes the spiritual, psychological, emotional and personal.
So put on your walking shoes. It’s your time!
It’s your time, if you are from the streets of the south side of Chicago, the South Bronx or Watts. It’s your time.
It’s your time, whether your father owned a bodega or he carved out a career in the executive suite in corporate America.It’s your time.
It’s your time if you are a first generation immigrant whose parents didn’t speak a word of English or you
grew up on a Native American reservation in the Southwest. It’s your time.
It’s your time whether your native tongue is Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi,
Arabic, IsiXhosa, SiSwati, Setswana, Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba. It’s your time.
It’s your time whether your momma cleaned somebody else’s kitchen, or she paid a maid to
come in to clean yours. It’s your time.
It’s your time as women are poised to surpass men in the nation’s labor force, taking the majority for
the first time in American history. It’s your time.
It’s your time because the population of the United States of America by the year 2040 will be more
minority than majority, making the minorities the majority. It’s your time.
It’s your time because great crises create even greater opportunities. It’s your time.
It’s your time, if you are a woman of color reading this webpage, because for the first time in history a
Black woman isn’t cleaning some room in the White House or cooking in the kitchen. Nope, a Black
woman is First Lady of the White House. It’s your time.
It’s your time, because never before in your generation have the feelings of hope, pride and justice
among all people regardless of their race, ethnicity or culture prevailed as strongly as they do now. It’s
your time.
It’s your time because the American workplace is now a global reality demanding diversity, inclusion,
innovation and a world view that is complex and far reaching. It’s your time.
It’s your time to take your place at the leadership table in Corporate America. It’s your time to use your
intelligence, skill set, wisdom and grace. It’s your time to walk through the doors confident and
authentic.
It’s your time to get serious about your career and how you want to see yourself develop. At Ascent:
